About us

Newly formed in 2023, within East Lancashire, Pyramid Soccer UK is a football programme, for children and young people, that has been developed by a team of staff educated to a high standard within the sports development and coaching arenas.

The theory behind Pyramid Soccer has been thoroughly researched and is changing the game, in the way that young people participate the sport of football.  Utilising small sided matches, with no goalkeepers, not only enhances decision making, ball control, passing and creativity. It also runs parallel with what most top academies are striving to achieve from the very best players in the game.

Our training format...

Here at Pyramid Soccer UK, we have added a modern dimension to the beautiful game, and put a new take on traditional training methods, which, in our opinion, help develop, encourage, and motivate the next generation of young football players.

Traditionally, in most cases, amateur football for most youngsters, would comprise of 1 weekday training session and a competitive match on a weekend. This would be in a setting of teams of generally 7 or more players, a large pitch and large goalposts to either defend or score in.

At Pyramid Soccer UK we take this method and turn it on its head.

Every training session is also a match day! Utilising small sided 3v3 teams, small pitches and small goalposts. Not to mention, no goalies! Sorry Pickford!  Although, you can still come along and work on your footwork!

Why do we train this way.....

The theory behind it is simple, and some say, it has three parts, much like a PYRAMID.

DEFEND, CREATE, ATTACK.

These are the three main principles embedded throughout all football.  At Pyramid Soccer UK, this is no different.

By utilising small teams, pitches, and goals, it means the following benefits to training;

1. More ball possession time

2. Encourages quicker decision making

3. Speeds up the development of feet coordination

4. The ethos of passing and moving is engrained throughout

5. The passes naturally become more detailed, creative and accurate

6. more game time, in general, equates to more enjoyment for your child

There are many other benefits to participating in this style of training, including fitness, agility, concentration, quickness and so on..... but the biggest benefit of all......

IT'S FUN!
